“This recipe speaks to me because it’s a chicken soup but it’s not just chicken soup. So it has a little bit of a heartier element to it. It has turmeric in it, so it has that kind of warming, spicy, element to it but without being actually spicy. It’s also incredibly easy to make, so all of the ingredients are easy to come by. It’s easy to store; it stores super well you can keep it in your freezer for forever kind of and just take it out when needed. I have definitely delivered it to probably a half a dozen friends over the past couple of years and it seems to be a bit of a crowd-pleaser.”

“When a person has just given birth…there is a deep, deep recovery that’s happening and what’s important is having very nutrient rich soups and something warm so collagens and all of the bits that come from the chicken added to the rice to give some sustenance and a little bit of turmeric, if you look up ayurvedic medicine, there’s a lot of benefit for new moms.”

Re: the final olive oil drizzle  “It calls for fresh olive oil and I think it amps the flavor up a touch”
